The Convenience Shop launches its training centre
A first-of-its-kind training centre has been launched by The Convenience Shop – the training centre will meet the need for improved competencies in customer service training aimed at front-line staff, managers and leaders within the Group’s network of outlets.
The centre was launched by Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education and Employment.
“Customers are increasingly suggesting that staff attitude and behaviour is very important to them. At the same time, employees are asking for help so they are better equipped to handle their customers’ demands. The launch of this centre will provide a much needed link between what consumers want and what employers can offer their staff, providing a skills boost to help in delivering what customers expect,” explained Andrew Attard, Operations Manager within The Convenience Shop.
The training centre is in the process of obtaining government accreditation in recognition of its drive to ensure that these courses will be pivotal to its success and to the career development of its employees.
The training programme will provide the foundation skills necessary for one to become conversant in all aspect of retail sales. Topics covered include customer service and sales, inventory, store appearance, security and safety and more.
This project will have a clear focus on people development and assessment to nationally recognised standards, helping employers recruit and retain staff with the required skill-sets.
