New Keen offices inaugurated in Gozo

-

Last week, Keen Ltd inaugurated its new premises in Xewkija, Gozo. Keen Ltd is a digital marketing agency that provides a vast range of services to businesses of different sizes in different countries. Since its inception over 10 years ago, Keen has been growing steadily and today the team comprises a wide variety of industry experts.

Apart from servicing a variety of local firms, Keen has also established strong relationships with other agencies by providing outsourcing of specialised services to organisations in the US, Australia, the UK, France and UAE.

While thanking both clients and staff, John Abela and John Falzon, the directors of Keen, explained how the growth of the company over the years has motivated further investment bringing it to where it is today.

The new offices have been overhauled completely from what was once a factory into modern and sleek offices that can now welcome the Keen team and clients. In fact, the investment of around €250,000 has transformed the building and from these premises, Keen is planning on growth that will involve up to 50 employees housed within the building.

Present for the occasion was Minister Evarist Bartolo, who explained that this is an important milestone for the company. The creation of new job opportunities in Gozo is essential to the island which over the years has had to contend with a lot of young people leaving the island to seek jobs in mainland Malta. Another challenge that technology companies face in Gozo is competing with the gaming companies on salaries.

Following Minister Bartolo, Minister Anton Refalo praised the efforts of the directors and their passion for the island of Gozo, which has motivated them to invest further in the island. Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana who also attended the opening said that Keen’s outlook and approach to the industry places the company in a good position ready to embrace the future.

Following the opening ceremony, Keen hosted a lecture in Digital Marketing. Substantiating their passion for technology and the web, the team at Keen prepared a special dashboard that was programmed to project real-time internet and technology-related statistics from around the globe and visually displayed the path of real-time traffic of an actual website on the fly.

Furthermore, the dashboard which is a typical example of roping in hardware, software and browser-based technology in realtime used heat mapping technology to display movement in the premises via motion tracking. Guests were also greeted by a browser-based, motion-tracking Bot that also captured photos and projected them on the dashboard. All the technology displayed can be rolled out and used in real life business applications.

Web Development manager, Paul Portelli, commented that it is a great satisfaction that we are now at a point where technology bridges the hardware and the browser in a robust and powerful manner, as this opens up space for an influx of innovative ideas.
