Pharmacy Of Your Choice Unit CEO awarded ‘Ġieħ San Ġiljan’
In a ceremony organised by St Julian’s Council, Mayor Guido Dalli, in the presence of Council Members, presented the honour ‘Ġieħ San Ġiljan’ to Roseanne Camilleri De Bono as a sign of appreciation for the capabilities Roseanne showed in recent years in the area of health in her role as Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmacy Of Your Choice Unit.
Roseanne Camilleri DeBono is CEO of the POYC Unit within the Ministry of Health. Since 1988 she has occupied senior executive posts and as a Managing Consultant in the Directorate of Planning and Implementation she drew up, wrote and implemented a number of reforms, among which the National Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Plan, whose guidelines were recommended for adoption in small countries by the European Centre for Disease and Prevention Control.
Mrs Camilleri DeBono was entrusted with planning, drawing up and implementing the national project of the Pharmacy Of Your Choice, along with a number of projects and national schemes which are today serving the needs of more than 180,000 patients in the community. The POYC Unit today is, as a result, considered to be the biggest dynamic operation in the community, which is serving more than 33% of the population of the Maltese Islands.
In a short period of time, with the assistance of her team, Mrs Camilleri DeBono managed to develop the POYC Unit to the extent that it was one of the first Government Divisions to take the Equality Mark Certificate, issued by the National Commission for the Equality of Sexes and the ISO 9001-2008 International Standard certification.
