The Malta Institute of Management holds its 53rd Annual General Meeting

On 29 May, the Malta Institute of Management held its 53rd Annual General Meeting at the Institute of Tourism Studies in St Julian’s.

The meeting was addressed by the outgoing president, Hector Spiteri, who stated that the MIM is in its final stages of its restructur­ing process. He said that he is satisfied that this Council overcame this difficult time in terms of finances and that it is now ready to continue in its mission to promote the management profession in Malta and also to open up opportunit­ies for its members.

The outgoing hon. secretary of the Institute, Reuben Buttigieg, gave an overview of the work done by the institute over the last years. He thanked all the persons involved in restructur­ing and stated that it is now time to consolidat­e on what the MIM has built particular­ly on the hard work of the Council as well as its predecesso­rs. He stated that the various new activities launched by the MIM are rendering its expected results as will be reported by the hon. treasurer, Mark Camilleri.

Mr Camilleri stated that he was very happy with the surplus achieved and for bringing back in line the reporting procedures. He stated that the financial position of the MIM remains a feasible one and shall be communicat­ing various other measures to consolidat­e this. He thanked Stefi Cale, Christian Camilleri and Mark Bajada for their work in assisting him to turnaround the reporting procedures.

In his concluding remarks the president invited the MIM members to encourage the younger generation to come even closer to the MIM and to participat­e actively in this Institute.
