MCASTSkills Challenge Awards Ceremony

-

Yesterday MCAST held an Awards Ceremony for the winners of the MCASTSkills Challenge that was held earlier on in April. During the Awards Ceremony, which was held at the MCAST Students’ House, Paola, winners were awarded medals, while all participants were given official certificates.

Apart from serving as a platform for MCAST students to show off their abilities and talents the MCASTSkills Challenge was also an opportunity for students to present themselves to top industry specialists that assessed them live against pre-defined criteria. This competition acted as an ideal springboard for students towards their chosen career path, as they had the opportunity to flaunt their knowledge and abilities to the public and important industry players.

Over 850 students competed in 65 different challenges in their respective fields of study, which took place in various areas of the MCAST Main Campus in Paola. Challenges were set to participants on the day, setting the ground for students to flaunt their skills and talents in various areas, including ICT, Creative Arts, Applied Sciences, Hair and Beauty, Social Care, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Media Production, Business management, and many more.

Professional judging teams were made of MCAST lecturers and industry. This event was backed by industry through sponsorships as well as through their input in the preparation of challenges and judging process.

Set to become an annual event, the MCAST Skills Challenge aims to improve the quality, status and attraction of vocational training in Malta.
