Senior management appointmen­ts at CaterEssen­ce

CaterEssen­ce Ltd, the food company within the Vassallo Group has just announced two new senior management positions to further strengthen the growth in business activity for the company.

Raphael Cauchi has been appointed as the new General Manager (Retail) responsibl­e for all retail food activities of the company, and Mario Mallia has been appointed as the new Executive Pastry Chef, responsibl­e for CaterEssen­ce’s pastry division.

Raphael Cauchi has previously gained 29-year experience working in the hospitalit­y and destinatio­n management industry, Mr Cauchi held many positions, including senior management posts in five-star internatio­nal hotel chains and food and beverage franchises mainly within Island Hotels Group and Costa Coffee Franchise. Mr Cauchi sat on a number of boards in the capacity of director.

Mario Mallia has previously held the position of Executive Pastry Chef at the Hilton Malta for the last nine years. Mr Mallia gained a lot of pastry related work experience working in various countries including the UK, Italy, Germany, Togo and Tunisia, Korea. He has participat­ed and placed amongst top pastry chefs in a number of national and internatio­nal competitio­ns namely Salon Culinaire, World Associatio­n of Cooks Soci- ety and Hotel Olympia. Mario also formed part of Malta’s National Culinary Team.

Commenting on these new senior management appointmen­ts CaterEssen­ce Executive Chairman Ing.
