PKF Malta promotes business collaboration with China

-

In its effort to promote Malta and showcase the services the island can offer to the Chinese business community, PKF, in collaboration with its affiliate members in the European and North American community, last week hosted a business meeting in Beijing.

During this meeting the local audit firm showcased seven core pillars of investment opportunities in Malta which were warmly received by Asian executives. These sectors included Luxury property development, Aviation, Oil and Gas, Innovation, Actuarial & Financing, UCITS funds, Captive Insurance and Blockchain technology, among others.

A lot of effort was put into a collaborative synergy between Malta and China partners with the objective of achieving new opportunities which are being piloted by China under its innovative “one belt one road” policy.

This ambitious policy, launched in 2013, aims to expand China investment in many sectors and includes major infrastructural projects along the proverbial Silk Road all the way from China to Europe.

Speaking at the inaugural event PKF’s managing partner, George Mangion said that this year Malta celebrated the 45th anniversary since initiation of diplomatic and trade relations between Malta and China. In view of this, there has never been a better time to reaffirm a joint commitment to bolster commercial ties and seek new avenues for expanding mutual business and cultural activities.

Follow-up visits are planned this year to host Chinese investors wishing to meet potential local business partners. For more information send an email on mcamilleri@pkfmalta.com
