MMF Officials of the Future

-

The Malta Motorsport Federation, with its partners ACI Sport of Italy are pleased to launch the ERASMUS project – MMF officials of the Future – Training courses for local officials to international standards to ensure a safer, better organised tomorrow.

The objective of this project is to give proper, internationally recognised training. Although MMF is very proud of the training levels our officials have, we need to start planning to the needs of tomorrow’s events especially with regards to government project to have a race track locally.

Thanks to this project the MMF will be in a position to have fully trained motorsport officials. The local officials will be trained in a number of fields amongst which are those of Clerk of the Course, Circuit Official, Race Director and Scruntineer.

Each official will shadow International licensed officials for 3-4 events each. This will help give our officials the exposure needed to attain an MMF international license, which is recognized worldwide and the next natural step to obtain FIA International licenses.

To this effect MMF together with ACI Sport will be doing a pilot run of the project throughout the coming weekend where three Maltese officials will be shadowing their Italian counterparts during the famous Salita Monte Erice in Trapani.

MMF President Tonio Cini stated that the outstanding progress we are registering is thanks to the support that the MMF has been given from ACI Sport President Angelo Sticchi Damiani and ACI Sport Director Marco Ferrari. This project showcase the best practice of the sport which is in line with the direction of the FIA.

The MMF would like to thank MEUSAC and EUPA for the support given in applying for this project and ACI Sports for excepting to partner us in this project.
