MCAST starts new academic year

-

MCAST’s new academic year has started with over 6400 students currently following full-time courses in one of MCAST’s three colleges, namely Foundation, Technical and University.

The new academic year is marked with Fresher’s Week, an annual event organized to provide new students with an introduction to different aspects of MCAST college life. During Fresher’s Week students are introduced to several student services as well as the different student organizations on campus. Several activities and games are being held for students to meet and mingle with fellow students, whilst having fun and learning more about life on campus. Several NGOs as well as commercial entities have set up stands and are providing their services and opportunities of employment to students.

On Tuesday 3rd October President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca visited Fresher’s Week. She visited the various stands including student organization stands and industry stands and also met up with new MCAST students. The President also spent half an hour with MCAST female students discussing the Girl2Leader initiative. The Girl2Leader is a campaign launched by the Women Political Leaders Global Forum and takes place under the distinguished patronage of the President.

On Wednesday 4 October Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, and Dr Adrian Delia, Leader of the Nationalist Party and Dr Therese Comodini Cachia, Shadow Minister for Education visited MCAST Fresher’s Week. They visited the stands and met new MCAST students on campus.
