-

The Argus Group is actively exploring opportunities to create a new insurance entity in Malta. The new entity would aim to meet emerging needs of the Malta market as well as act as a base from which to passport into other European markets.

Speaking at a recent event for insurance brokers, Argus Group chairman, Sheila Nicoll, said: “The Argus Group continues to be committed to growing and developing its presence in Malta. At a time of considerable geopolitical change, significant opportunities emerge. Brexit is one excellent example of a great opportunity for Malta and we are delighted to see that government and the business community are working closely together to capitalise on these opportunities.”

Dr Vanessa Borg, chief executive at AIAL, stated that thanks to the ded- ication of employees and brokers, the company is well set to continue making inroads in the local insurance sector and will seek to further expand its business.

The Argus Group has more than 65 years of experience in the financial services sector. Headquartered in Bermuda, the company reported net equity of $134m and earnings of $12m in 2017.

The Group currently operates nine businesses in three territories, including Malta. More information is available on www.argus.com.mt and www.argus.bm
