National League – Round Up
Division 1: Four home wins in division one this week with all favourites securing all three points. Top three Floriana Ajax MCP A, Mosta Horseshoe Bar A and Kalkara St Joseph all secured comfortable wins over Gudja PO’s Bar A 7-1, Birzebbuga Cox Sports Club A 8-0 and Zejtun Beland Bullseye 6-2 respectively. Senglea M. Conquest A claimed their second win of the season over Hamrun Education Bar A to move out of the relegation places.
Division 2: Perfect week for Sta Venera Red Square as they claim their sixth consecutive win; this time against Cospicua Rangers who now trail the leaders by seven points. Mosta Horseshoe Bar B could not make the most of Rangers defeat as they ended in a 4-4 draw against Gudja PO’s Bar B and now are in joint second place with Cospicua. In other matches, Floriana Ajax MCP B comfortably dispatched Birzebbuga Cox Sports Club B 7-1 to condemn the seasiders to another defeat who are yet to record their first point of the season and the match between Hamrun Education Bar B and Bugibba Sun City A ended all square.
Division 3: In the top of the table derby, Floriana Ajax Munchies C came out on top in a closely contested match against Floriana Bocci Club with a 5-3 scoreline. In other matches, Siggiewi St Nicholas BC and St Paul’s Band Club kept the pace with the leaders with wins over Hamrun Bayern Munich and St Paul’s Diamonds and wins also for Senglea M. Conquest, Sliema Tipico St Gregory BC, Mqabba St Mary’s Band Club who currently occupy fifth, sixth and seventh place respectively.
