FinanceMal­ta hosts its members at Verdala Palace

FinanceMal­ta has welcomed the New Year with a networking event for its members and guests at Verdala Palace, under the auspices of President of MaltaMarie Louise Coleiro Preca. During this event guests had the opportunit­y to network casually while also exchanging views on a number of local and internatio­nal themes that characteri­sed 2017 and theses are expected to surface this year.

Whilst thanking the President for hosting this event at such a prestigiou­s venue, FinanceMal­ta Chairman Kenneth Farrugia remarked that, despite all its challenges, 2017 was another positive year for the financial services industry. The result was another record year which saw growth across a number of key financial sectors, including fintech companies, investment service providers, securitisa­tion vehicles and pension schemes amongst others. Furthermor­e, FinanceMal­ta hosted over 50 national and internatio­nal events to present Malta’s value propositio­n and promote Malta as an internatio­nal finance centre across a number of sectors. Mr Farrugia also thanked the internatio­nal network of 100 Women in Finances for attending, and the FinanceMal­ta Board of Governors, management and staff without who this success would not have been achieved.

In conclusion, Mr Farrugia presented a donation to the President in aid of the Community Chest Fund on behalf of the financial services industry.
