Conference and research launch to mark Women’s Day

The Malta Institute of Accountant­s is organising a profession­al conference on the occasion of Women’s Day with the theme Inspire to Achieve on Friday, 9 March. Held under the auspices of the President of Malta MarieLouis­e Coleiro Preca and addressed by leading women profession­als, this is the first ever event focusing specifical­ly on women by MIA.

The Institute will also mark the day with the formal launch of a study into gender-based pay gaps within the accounting profession, conducted by Misco, a recognised leader in independen­t marketing, research and HR consultanc­y in Malta. The conference brings to the fore important issues such as leadership, achieving and the expectatio­ns of millennial­s, also discussing gender disparity in leadership positions. Sessions will be led by inspiring achievers from different profession­al background­s.

Moderated by Vanessa Macdonald, the conference has two main sessions: Leadership and Influence, on how women can inspire others and Breaking the Barriers, on the changing situation of women in the workplace. The programme presents a remarkable line-up of speakers namely Dr Natalie Kenely, Angela Attard Fenech, Giselle Borg, Mary Gaerty, Lisa Pullicino, Grace Camilleri, Claudine Cassar, Bettina Mifsud and Karen Spiteri Bailey.

Inspire to Achieve will be held at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar between 8.30 and 11.30am, followed by a networking brunch. The Malta Institute of Accountant­s invites interested participan­ts to reserve their attendance by sending an email to cpeevents@ miamalta.org
