Create the home of the future with GO

-

Anyone who has ever wanted to build their own domestic robot or create an innovative home automation system now has the opportunity to turn their idea into a reality. This is possible following a decision by GO to launch a new Home of the future initiative, through which up to €9,000 in funding is being made available immediately.

This first round of funding for Home of the future projects will focus primarily on the use of technology, smart devices including robotic arms and robots, supported by fibre connectivity within the living room.

Any individual or group of individuals up to a maximum of six participants is welcome to submit an idea. All the ideas received will be reviewed by an expert panel which will then interview shortlisted applicants to determine both the feasibility of the proposed project and the technical ability of applicants to complete it. Three projects will be chosen, each receiving up to €3,000 in funding. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their ideas at the Malta Robotics Olympiad taking place on 20-22 April.

Daniela Bagnaschi, senior manager Marketing at GO, said: “GO has always been at the forefront of connectivity. From the telegraph through to fibre internet we have always given Malta the latest technology, helping individuals and businesses to fulfil their aspirations. We are now on the cusp of the next revolution. The Internet of Things combined with Artificial Intelligence will bring new levels of automation into our lives. Intelligent systems, devices and robots, at home and at work, will become an everyday reality. Through various initiatives, including the new Home of the future project, GO continues to support Malta in making the most of this new reality.” Full details on the Home of the future initiative and application forms can be obtained by sending an email to paul.demicoli@go.com.mt
