Report highlights rising stakes in Maltese iGaming talent

-

A recent report by international recruitment and headhunting firm Boston Link has given an insight into the salaries of the iGaming industry. The annual report, which is available to download for free, provides a transparent review of the iGaming sector in Malta.

Historically the iGaming industry has led the way in how companies should reward their staff, with innovative cultures and highly attractive salaries. Now many forward-think- ing companies are following suit as a way to increase staff retention. The report highlights the extra initiatives being taken in order to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to employee welfare.

Some of the key trends highlighted by the report include: • Competition for staff in Malta has undoubtedly caused wage inflation across the board, quite significantly in some areas. • Maltese companies are now using technologies for which it is difficult to find talent, requiring relocation of specialists with experience of specific coding languages. • A strong push for diversity and inclusion across the industry, which has become increasingly important since the negative press exposure of the industry at Ice Totally Gaming last month. Julian Perigo, managing director of Boston Link, said: “The annual salary data that we produce is critically important for both employees and employers alike. Employers in iGaming are increasingly concerned about rewarding their staff in line with their competitors. Attracting and retaining talent is a huge focus of the market and as iGaming specialists we wanted to bridge the gap of information that, naturally, can be hard for businesses to obtain.”

Perigo continued: “Encouragingly, the island’s talent pool is improving all the time. This encompasses local talent with specialist skills in areas such as finance and tech to international recruits relocating to Malta from the UK, Isle of Man, mainland Europe and particularly Gibraltar. We have been able to add our own findings on recent relocations and benefits to the survey to help guide recruitment to these difficult areas.” A copy of the report can be downloaded at www.link-gaming.com
