The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry and HSBC Bank Malta have renewed their long-standing Gold Partnership Agreement, strengthening their excellent relations.

The agreement was signed by the president Frank V. Farrugia and deputy president David Xuereb for the Malta Chamber and by CEO Andrew Beane and head of Commercial Banking Michel Cordina for HSBC Malta.

Addressing those present, Farrugia said that thanks to the renewed agreement, Malta’s entrepreneurs will continue to benefit from the Chamber’s sterling service, in a competitiveness-focused environment.

In the past years, the Malta Chamber and HSBC Bank Malta have collaborated on a number of fronts, through the organisation of events and initiatives that promote a future-proof economy for Malta.

“With the support of HSBC, we have organised events on a number of important subjects which are of interest to Malta Chamber members as well as all businesses at large. All events were very well attended and extremely informative, as members had words of praise for their organisation,” Farrugia said.

“In the future we are looking at providing our businesses with more information and assistance in a number of areas of interest,” the president said.

Farrugia also noted HSBC’s sterling assistance to the Chamber in the formulation of positions in certain specific subjects. “The experience and expertise of the bank in a number of areas was always readily available to the Chamber to formulate positions in specific sectors. I augur that our collaboration on these lines shall continue well into the future,” Farrugia concluded.

Beane said: “We are pleased to renew our longstanding support for the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. This important partnership allows HSBC and the Chamber to explore joint opportunities for the benefit of the business community in Malta, reinforcing HSBC’s commitment to support businesses to thrive and the local economy to prosper.”
