Top international speakers and innovators to participate in Malta conference

-

A number of internationally-acclaimed speakers will be participating at a major conference aimed at discussing the future of the workforce, which will be held on 5 December.

The first event of its kind in Malta, Futuris brings together an international group of innovators, thinkers and entrepreneurs to address the key issues that are affecting the workforce today.

As different organisations experience a shortage of talent, many are realizing that it is time to explore new dynamics and ways of working. Futuris – Workforce 2030, aims to explore how societal trends and policies as well as the rise of disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence will change the world of work and how businesses operate.

Martin Ford, a futurist and author focusing on the impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on society and the economy, will be delivering the keynote speech. Ford, also a well-known entrepreneur, has written two very influential books, to which policymakers and business leaders worldwide frequently make reference to. His most recent book, Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future (2015), was a New York Times bestseller and won the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award in 2015. His other book, The Lights in the Tunnel: Automation, Accelerating Technology and the Economy of the Future (2009) also dealt with the effects of automation and the potential for structural unemployment and dramatically increasing inequality.

Ford will be joined by an array of international experts and well-known speakers such as Charles Radclyffe an entrepreneur and TEDx speaker who is currently a writer for Forbes.com and Jan Muhlfeit former chairman of Microsoft Europe and Global Strategist, who will share their insights and vision on current trends in the evolution of the workforce. This event is being attended by business leaders, people managers, technologists, professionals such as lawyers and financial services personnel whose industries are already being impacted today. The conference is also very relevant to policymakers and education leaders, who need to prepare and plan for the skills and personnel profiles needed in the workforce of tomorrow.

Futuris – Workforce 2030 is being supported by Zendesk, Planday, iMovo, DigitalGenius, Konnekt, Talexio, Jobsinmalta and The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD).
