Air Malta staff sup­port Pink Oc­to­ber

Air Malta has or­gan­ised a Pink Oc­to­ber event to in­crease aware­ness amongst its staff mem­bers about breast can­cer and raise funds to sup­port this na­tional cam­paign. The funds were raised dur­ing a month­long cam­paign at the air­line which in­cluded a cup­cake bake sale or­gan­ised by the air­line’s Sports and So­cial Club.

Air Malta’s Chair­man Dr Charles Man­gion, CEO Cap­tain Clif­ford Chet­cuti to­gether with man­age­ment and staff greeted Mrs Michelle Mus­cat, chair­per­son of The Marigold Foun­da­tion one of the or­gan­i­sa­tions in­volved in Pink Oc­to­ber cam­paign at the air­line’s Head Of­fice.

Dur­ing a short speech Mrs Mus­cat en­cour­age staff mem­bers to face their fears and reg­u­larly check-up them­selves. She spoke against the stigma sur­round­ing var­i­ous types of can­cer and the need to speak more about this sub­ject. She em­pha­sised that the gov­ern­ment gives a lot of free sup­port and as­sis­tance to fa­cil­i­tate this screen­ing and it is up to each and ev­ery one of us to con­tin­u­ously mon­i­tor our well­be­ing.

Dr Man­gion to­gether with Cap­tain Chet­cuti thanked Mrs Mus­cat for her visit and on be­half of all em­ploy­ees pre­sented her with a do­na­tion to­wards this na­tional cam­paign.

Pink Oc­to­ber brings to­gether a num­ber of non­profit and com­mer­cial en­ti­ties un­der an um­brella move­ment united by a shared vi­sion to step up the fight against breast can­cer.
