Air Malta staff support Pink October
Air Malta has organised a Pink October event to increase awareness amongst its staff members about breast cancer and raise funds to support this national campaign. The funds were raised during a monthlong campaign at the airline which included a cupcake bake sale organised by the airline’s Sports and Social Club.
Air Malta’s Chairman Dr Charles Mangion, CEO Captain Clifford Chetcuti together with management and staff greeted Mrs Michelle Muscat, chairperson of The Marigold Foundation one of the organisations involved in Pink October campaign at the airline’s Head Office.
During a short speech Mrs Muscat encourage staff members to face their fears and regularly check-up themselves. She spoke against the stigma surrounding various types of cancer and the need to speak more about this subject. She emphasised that the government gives a lot of free support and assistance to facilitate this screening and it is up to each and every one of us to continuously monitor our wellbeing.
Dr Mangion together with Captain Chetcuti thanked Mrs Muscat for her visit and on behalf of all employees presented her with a donation towards this national campaign.
