-

HSBC Malta has received the Gold certificate by Richmond Foundation Malta, making it the first large corporate in the country to be recognised for creating a climate of openness and support for mental health among its employees.

The Gold certificate was received for being a Mental health first aid trained workplace, having trained at least 10% of its workforce in mental health first aid.

Stephania Dimech Sant, CEO of Richmond Foundation Malta, said: “HSBC was the first corporate entity in Malta to offer the Richmond Foundation’s Staff and Organisation Support programme. This goes to show the extent to which HSBC has always appreciated the wellbeing of its employees, making it a model employer.”

The bank has worked with the Richmond Foundation for over 16 years to ensure that all its employees have access to advice and professional assistance on managing mental health. The Gold certificate was presented to HSBC Malta on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day held on 10 October.

“At HSBC, we thrive when all our employees feel at their best and are at their best. We aspire to have a workforce that develops its full potential thus translating into a high performing and customer centric organisation,” added Caroline Buhagiar Klass, HSBC Malta head of Human Resources.
