New director joins the board of APS Bank

Victor Emanuel Agius has been appointed to the APS Bank’s board of directors. He joins the bank as non-executive director after an internatio­nal career of 43 years spanning commercial and developmen­t banking and project finance.

Victor started his career at Lloyds Bank (1974-1978) and then joined the World Bank Group based in Washington DC (19782000) rising to principal Financial Specialist. During this period he also spent time at Internatio­nal Finance Corporatio­n as senior Investment officer and at the European Bank for Reconstruc­tion & Developmen­t in London as senior banker and co-director, Financial Institutio­ns Department from 1993 to 1997.

Between 2000 and 2017 Agius was director at the Council of European Developmen­t Bank based in Paris, responsibl­e for technical quality and oversight of the CEB’s portfolio.

Agius has a B.A. (Hons) Economics from the Royal University of Malta (1971) and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He also followed an Executive Programme in Financial Management of Banking Institutio­ns at the Wharton School of Finance in Pittsburgh and the Senior Finance Executive Programme at Stanford University in California.
