A joint event by the Malta Institute of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales

-

The changing responsibilities of company directors will be explored in an innovative event screening an original and engaging drama film on the theme. The interactive event is being held by the Malta Institute of Accountants in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales on Tuesday 4th December morning at the Xara Lodge in Rabat.

The production is an unconventional approach to address issues faced by accountants, auditors, and company directors. Scripted specifically for ICAEW and directed by an award-winning Nick White, False Assurance® has been used in training workshops for senior management and boards of directors of major international companies. Thanks to close cooperation with the Malta Institute of Accountants, the thought-provoking film is being shown to professionals in Malta, putting the major themes up for discussion.

Corporate governance is coming up against increasingly complex situations that require companies to be more vigilant and act responsibly across all levels of the organisation. The specially-produced film will generate insight into these areas and provide food for thought for a post-screening forum led by a panel of experts moderated by ICAEW Regional Director Dr Martin Manuzi.

The elite discussion panel also includes Ariane Azzopardi, Associate Director at KPMG Malta; Dominic Fischer, President of the Malta Association of Risk Management and Executive Director at Sparkasse Bank Malta plc; Keith Cutajar, Court Expert in Digital Forensics and Manager of Cyber Security Services at PwC Malta; Nick Xuereb, CFO at Toly Group; Dr Emma Grech, Company Secretary at PG Group; and Bernard Scicluna, Chairman and Audit National Professional Practice Director at Deloitte Malta.

The Malta Institute of Accountants is delighted to extend the invitation to executive and nonexecutive directors, and senior and junior professionals who will have the opportunity to share their concerns about corporate governance and discuss related important themes.

The programme starts at 9am and ends at 11:30am, followed by a networking break. The gripping trailer of the False Assurance® may be viewed on bit.ly/FalseAssurance and the Institute will be happy to answer to any queries and is accepting bookings by email on cpeevents@miamalta.org.
