Local children’s homes treated to BBQ event by Valletta Cruise Port Social Club

-

Following a successful Carnival Party earlier in the year, personnel at Valletta Cruise Port Plc organised a summer event for local children’s homes Dar Sagra Familja (Zabbar), St Joseph (Zabbar) and St Rita Home (Tarxien) at Magazino Hall, Valletta Waterfront.

Throughout the afternoon children were entertained with games, face painting, balloon modelling, dance-along shows, a magic show and animation.

Ample food and drink followed in Magazino Hall’s breezy courtyard including ice-cream, a thrilling treat for both the children and their carers.

The event closed off with a surprise appearance by the Malta Police Force Dog Section where a dog show with a detailed explanation about the dogs’ duties mesmerised children present. Children were also given a goody bag containing educational and novelty items, for them to enjoy later.

The objective of this event and other projects coordinated by the Valletta Cruise Port Social Club is to make a long-lasting impact on the lives of the children and youths residing in these homes, and support the efforts of Valletta Cruise Port plc’s philanthropic commitment toward local communities.

Stephen Xuereb, CEO at Valletta Cruise Port Plc, said in a statement: “It is a pleasure seeing our staff get together to organise such an event – we strive to give our employees opportunities to volunteer to create a sense of community both within Valletta Cruise Port, as well as a connection to the surrounding communities. Having the children and their carers freely come to thank us with a happy smile at the end of such an event makes it all worthwhile.”
