Manchester’s Stock Exchange Hotel to open tomorrow

The Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester will join the Relais and Chateaux portfolio when it opens tomorrow.

Co-owned by ex-Manchester United footballers Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, along with Maltese hotelier Winston Zahra, the 40room property is housed within the city’s former Stock Exchange building.

Features include two signature suites, a 325sqm penthouse residence, and a restaurant and bar overseen by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, and housed “under the magnificent dome which for decades was the trading floor of the Stock Exchange”.

There will be two events spaces – the lower ground floor The Vault for up to 120 people, and The Bank which can offer private dining for up to 14 guests and which features its own wine cellar.

The Grade II listed building was originally built in 1906 as the Manchester Stock Exchange, before becoming the Northern Stock Exchange until 1979 when this was amalgamated into the London Stock Exchange. The space has subsequently been used as offices and a restaurant, and was bought in 2014 by Neville and Giggs.

The hotel will be managed by GG Hospitality (also responsible for Hotel Football Old Trafford), and will become a member of Relais and Chateaux, which counts 580 hotel and restaurant members worldwide, including the Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxford, and Cliveden House in Berkshire.
