MeDirect to close two Malta branches

MeDirect Bank (Malta) plc said last week that it has informed its customers that it will be closing its branches in Paola and Mosta with effect from 31 January.

In a circular to customers MeDirect said that the decision to close these branches was being made in order to consolidat­e and improve its delivery service. The operations of the branches will be transferre­d to the headquarte­rs at The Centre, Tigné Point, Sliema.

Over the past years, MeDirect said it has invested in developing state-of-the-art online banking and investment platforms. These services add convenienc­e and ease of managing your banking and investment needs without the need to visit a physical branch.

The bank said: “In order to sustain future growth and developmen­t, with effect from 31 January, we will be closing two of our branches located at 72, Constituti­on Street, Mosta and 127, Piazza Antoine De Paule, Paola. In addition, our branch in Sliema will be moved from its current location on the first floor to the second floor of The Centre, Tigné Point. Our branch in Gozo will remain open in its current location. Our team of highly skilled and dedicated profession­als are there to serve you in these branches and will continue to offer you our personalis­ed service.

“Your account will not be affected in any way and no action is required from your side, however, it is important to note that after 31 January, a limited number of services will no longer be available through the branch network and other services can only be made through our Wealth Support Centre and/or online banking, as explained in the informatio­n sheet.

“The operations of the branches will be transferre­d to the bank's new Investment Centre located at our headquarte­rs at The Centre, Tigné Point, Sliema. The new Investment Centre will be dedicated to provide superior banking support and investment services to our customers.”
