The Convenience Shop will have 72 outlets by the end of 2020
The Convenience Shop Holding plc has taken extensive measures across its business to safeguard its staff and customers during the Covid19 pandemic and has adapted quickly and efficiently to the ‘new normal’.
The Group has announced that it has already opened five new Convenience Shop outlets in 2020. The Group is also looking towards opening an additional outlet by the end of the year 2020. Therefore, the Group is on course to open six new Convenience Shop outlets during 2020, which strengthens the Group’s objective of establishing itself as Malta’s leading food retailer.
These additions will bring up the total of Convenience Shop outlets to seventy-two by the end of this year.
The Group has also been making strategic investments to both deliver more value for its customers and build longterm loyalty. This includes investments in a sophisticated IT infrastructure that enables the Group to continue expanding in the convenience market by enhancing the Group’s real time inventory management and control and the Group’s category management concept, and implementing an efficient online shopping service that is attractive, interactive and easy to use, allowing for the express delivery of our customers’ on-line purchases at a time of their choice.
In line with the Group’s corporate social responsibility, the Group has worked with the Armed Forces of Malta to ensure free delivery of products to vulnerable people and people in quarantine during this period.
Furthermore, the Group also plays an active role in regularly supporting charitable initiatives, including operating an outlet in Qormi where all profits generated from such outlet go directly to Puttinu Cares.
Within the Covid 19 environment, the Group’s aim shall remain to focus on our most urgent priority, which is providing a safe environment for our staff and consumers.
This, whilst at the same time continuing to enhance our customers’ experience when shopping with the Convenience Shop through the opening of new outlets, prudent investments and development of comprehensive digital solutions for our retail business.
