X300 – A direct route between Ċirkewwa and University

-

For these last few years, the Gozo University Group has been aiming and working hard at providing Gozitan students with a better and more efficient means of transport for their daily / weekly commute to university and other institutions.

After numerous discussions regarding the possibility of introducing a new route aimed solely for Gozitans who study or work in Malta, GUG, together with Ian Borg, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects as well as Clint Camilleri, Minister for Gozo came to the agreement that it is of utmost importance that a direct route be dedicated to students, more so during these stressful times.

The bus service, which is being planned for route X300, will be timed with the ferry’s arrival time, implying that this route will be a synchronised route according to the ferry’s arrival at Ċirkewwa.

This service will be taking the most direct route towards Valletta, passing through both the Mellieħa and St Paul’s Bay bypasses, stopping only at Qroqq (Skatepark Msida) and Kulleġġ (Msida) bus stops.

It is being suggested that the student fare will be applicable for all those in possession of a Student Tallinja card. For the time being this route will only be operating on weekdays, that is from Monday to Friday. This route will be operating during peak hours, with the first trip leaving as soon as the 6am ferry arrives.

We believe that this is a step in the right direction, yet GUG is open for any suggestions on ways to improve this service while always aiming at facilitating the life of Gozitan students.
