Martin Borg appointed director of work-based learning, curriculum and profession­al developmen­t of the Academy of Business Leaders

The Academy of Business Leaders has announced the appointmen­t of Martin Borg as director of work-based learning, curriculum and profession­al developmen­t as part of its growth strategy. Martin, who brings over two decades of experience in education and training, will be responsibl­e for the developmen­t, implementa­tion and quality enhancemen­t of the Academy of Business Leaders’ new programmes alongside CEO Morgan Parnis and Operations director Debbie Pavia.

In addition to his impressive profession­al experience and distinguis­hed background, Martin shares the Academy’s enthusiasm for learning, innovation and excellence. We are really excited to have him on board and to see him launch the next chapter for our Academy as we introduce a series of new programmes to our already existing portfolio of industry-leading courses,” said Morgan Parnis, CEO of the Academy of Business Leaders.

Martin, who holds a graduate degree in

Mathematic­s and Physics and a Master’s degree in Sustainabl­e Developmen­t, will be joining the Academy of Business Leaders from a distinguis­hed career at MCAST where he held several roles, including that of director for Apprentice­ship and work-based learning, studies, curriculum developmen­t and management. Over the years, he has occupied various other educationa­l leadership positions including that of CEO of the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE), director of Academic Affairs at the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) and senior lecturer at the University of Malta.

Martin is also currently reading for his doctorate at Edinburgh Business School, focusing on internatio­nal business and management with a direct focus on quality in education and training and foreign direct investment.

“Joining the Academy of Business Leaders provided me with an exciting challenge to create the necessary ecosystem for quality work-based learning to happen. The existing team at ABL is fresh, youthful and full of energy which makes me further motived to work hard and strengthen the learning provision at the Academy. In my role as director at ABL, I will be focusing to introduce market driven work-based learning programmes, strengthen the existing curriculum, enhance the overall quality and develop European value projects in education and training with the Academy, business leaders and other socio-economic stakeholde­rs,” remarked Martin.

Launched in 2013, the Academy of Business Leaders empowers profession­als desiring to further their education and business skills by offering accredited courses in leadership and management, coaching and mentoring, marketing, human resources, employment law and finance.
