The little coffee shop with a big heart goes on the road

-

Jacob’s Brew café is known to many as the little family-run café with a big heart, which introduced a Pay it forward concept, allowing paying customers the opportunity to offer a free coffee to someone else who may need it and spreading goodwill to reach out to as many people as possible. The idea being that more than just buying a coffee, the proceeds of the coffee shop go towards families in need of support. A simple yet effective concept that has the capacity to spread more kindness in a world that increasingly needs it.

And now the Jacob Brew team wants to spread this message of kindness around Malta with the launch of its coffee van, which will deliver free coffee and sandwiches to families in need of support. As part of this year’s CSR strategy, GasanMamo Insurance partnered with Jacob’s Brew to provide the necessary support the Jacob’s Brew team needed to bring this dream to fruition. And to thank the company’s generosity, the Jacob’s Brew coffee van headed to the insurance company’s head office in Gzira for its first coffee run, where staff bought coffees and food as way of further supporting the concept.

“We are very proud to have partnered with Jacob’s Brew, spreading positive messages through a simple coffee,” said Julian Mamo, managing director for GasanMamo. “This type of initiative which allows everyone to get involved is very much in keeping with our company ethos of supporting local communities.”

“We would like to thank Gasan Mamo for believing in us and for all the support that they have given us. It was a pleasure to serve such a wonderful team,” said Jacob’s mother Sarah Cachia. “We look forward to repaying their kindness by doing what we set out to do. For every cup of coffee that we sell from the van we will pay forward a coffee and a sandwich to someone in need of support at ITU (intensive care), NPICU (paediatric intensive care), SAMOC (oncology), Mount Carmel Hospital, drug rehab centres and shelters for survivors of domestic violence. Together we can all make a difference."
