The Malta Business Weekly

Malta’s top leaders are here to power up your business idea

-

Give your business model its first runway walk! To participate at Pitchora and get the chance to win a €60,000 equity-free prize fund, submit an application by 14 June at pitchora.com.

First-class CEOs and investors from across the Maltese islands shall be selecting the 10 finalists that will take the stage at the Pitchora event, happening on 27 and 28 July. Pitchora will give the finalists the opportunity to directly pitch their start-up in front of a panel of judges.

Presentation matters and people don’t often get a second chance to make a great first impression. How the finalists make use of their allocated 500 seconds will be instrumental to them making it to the top! To ensure that the finalists get the chance to put their best foot forward, Pitchora has teamed up with the Jaye Foundation to make available free pitch training for every finalist before the event.

The partners behind Pitchora may be star-studded with C

Suite professionals, but they have no interest in creating the next Shark Tank, Dragon’s Den or The Big Brain. To protect the intellectual property of the finalists, no part of the pitching process will be televised and every member of the audience will be asked to sign strict NDA terms.

After the finalists get to pitch their business model privately in the morning, Pitchora will open its doors to the public. Pitchora will be making available various spaces for attendees, including the exhibition floor, where local start-ups will be showcasing their products and sharing their story.

An investors’ corner has also been created in order to allow start-up representatives to get familiar with and discuss business models with selected investors. Interested start-ups can reach out via Pitchora.com and a matchmaking exercise will take place.

The main event will be Pitchora Talks, where the attendees will be able to listen to talks held by local entities dedicated to the incubation of start-ups. Representatives from Silicon Valletta, The Malta Chamber, Firstbridge, YPO – The Malta Chapter and others will host dedicated panels to tackle topics relevant to the start-up community, answer questions and highlight successful start-up stories.

Three winners will be announced on social media on Friday, 29 July.

The three winners will be awarded a unique starter package capable of catapulting them to the stage of full and thriving business development. Aside from the equityfree seed money, the winners will also get access to a comprehensive range of services and resources, as listed below.
