JA Malta to hold integration course for Ukrainian refugees

-

JA Malta, in collaboration with CSR Malta, will be holding an integration course during this month for Ukrainian refugees who have settled in Malta as a result of the war on Ukraine.

The integration course will focus on important local information that is integral to their wellbeing and integration in Maltese society, such as finding accommodation, the banking system, registering for schools and education, how to navigate the job market and social and cultural norms.

“As JA Malta we strongly believe in the importance of ed

ucation, so we wanted to do our part to help Ukrainian refugees by providing support and resources. We are providing the space for the sessions to take place and we are also giving 40 HP laptops to families with children who need to attend school online due to being forced to leave their country,” said JA Malta CEO, Matthew Caruana.

While the integration ses

sions will be held in English and participants are encouraged to engage during the sessions, a translator will be provided to ensure that the message delivered by the trainers and guest speakers is being understood. There is a team of Ukrainian people who have been living in Malta and who are actively involved in voluntary work, providing information, psychological and legal support to coming Ukrainian refugees.

The course will be held over four Saturdays at the JA Malta premises in Tigne Point, starting on 7 January.

Interested applicants are required to pay a registration fee of €15, of which €10 will be refunded at the end of the course upon successful attendance and participation. Payment should be sent via https://goget.fund/3HaNES3, clearly indicating the name of the applicant.
