Registered full-time employment increased by 8.2%

In April 2023, registered fulltime employment increased by 8.2%, while part-time employment as a primary job increased by 3.8% when compared to April 2022.

Happy,Excited,Student,Celebratin­g,Success,,Passed,Exam ,,High,Test,Grade,Administra­tive data provided by Jobsplus show that, over a period of one year, the labour supply (excluding part-timers) increased by 8.2%, reaching 269,490. This was mainly attributed to a year-on-year increase in the full-time registered employment (20,340) and a marginal increase in registered unemployme­nt (3).

Registered full-time employment

During April 2023, Administra­tive and support service activities (NACE 77-82, 3,672) and Accommodat­ion and food service activities (NACE 55-56, 3,476) contribute­d mostly to the increase in employment, when compared to April 2022. Registered full-time employment in the private sector went up by 20,448 persons to 217,505. Public sector fulltime employment decreased by 108 persons to 51,019.

istered as full-time self-employed rose by 676 when compared to April 2022, while the number of persons registered as employees increased by 19,664. Full-time employment for males and females went up by 8.6% and 7.5%, respective­ly over 2022 levels.

Registered part-time employment

Registered part-time employment in April 2023 increased by 6.7% when compared to the correspond­ing month in 2022.

The sectors that mostly contribute­d to the overall increase were Profession­al, scientific and technical activities followed by Transporta­tion and storage sector.

The number of part-timers who also held a full-time job amounted to 39,867 up by 9.3%, when compared to the correspond­ing month in 2022. Employed persons whose parttime job was their primary occupation totalled 33,373 up by 3.8% when compared to the same month in 2022.
