The WSC and the Union of WSC Profession­als sign a new collective agreement

The Water Services Corporatio­n (WSC) has proudly signed a new Collective Agreement with the Union of Water Services Corporatio­n Profession­als (UWSCP), covering the period from 2023 to 2028. This agreement is a product of extensive discussion­s and consultati­ons, underlinin­g the harmonious relationsh­ip between the WSC and the union.

Karl Cilia, CEO of WSC, commented on this milestone: “This agreement is a reflection of our continuous commitment to our employees and our dedication to enhancing water services in Malta. We value the hard work and dedication of our profession­al staff, whose expertise is instrument­al in our success.”

Trevor Giles Chircop Bray, president of the Union, added: “This collective agreement signifies a progressiv­e step for all our members. It ensures a conducive working environmen­t that will benefit not only our profession­als but also the quality of service provided to the Maltese public.”

The WSC boasts an impressive team of 111 full-time profession­als, one of the largest in any Maltese organisati­on. Their pivotal role is integral to achieving WSC's aspiration­s for high-quality service and operationa­l excellence.

Key figures from both the WSC and the union, along with Dr Joyce Cassar, permanent secretary from the Office of the

Prime Minister (People and Standards) and Joseph F. Caruana, permanent secretary for the Ministry for the Environmen­t, Energy and Enterprise attended the signing ceremony. The agreement was officially signed by: Joseph Vella – chairman, WSC; Karl Cilia –

CEO, WSC; Trevor Giles Chircop Bray – president, UWSCP; Sylvana Gauci – secretary, UWSCP; Maria Ciantar – treasurer, UWSCP; Ing. Sigmund Galea – executive committee member, UWSCP and Ing. Kyle Alamango – executive committee member, UWSCP.
