DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Hotel opening in Malta
DoubleTree by Hilton Malta to welcome guests ahead of 2024 summer season
DoubleTree by Hilton is set to open its first resort hotel in Malta, following a refurbishment of the Dolmen Hotel. Situated in the St Paul’s Bay area and featuring extensive leisure facilities and a range of restaurants and bars, the 485-guest room beachfront hotel is expected to open to guests this year. More than half of the rooms will boast impressive views along the coast of St Paul’s Bay, with most also featuring private balconies. Guests will also be able to take advantage of the hotel’s private beach.
Richard Cuello, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Malta, said: “We are thrilled to be opening this stunning hotel, coming to the shores of St Paul’s Bay in 2024 following extensive renovations and a full brand conversion. Malta’s enduring appeal as a leisure destination, combined with the strength of DoubleTree by Hilton, make for a significant and valuable addition to our portfolio.”
With four restaurants and three bars serving a range of popular cuisines, guests will have numerous places to eat and drink between dips in the hotel’s four outdoor and two indoor pools, or relaxing in the expansive spa with six treatment rooms. For meetings and events, DoubleTree by Hilton Malta will include more than 2,000 sq.m. of meeting space, including a 971 sq.m. ballroom for larger events and weddings. Adjacent to the hotel will be 400-car parking spaces, ideal for travellers with hired cars and Maltese residents visiting or staying at the hotel.
Thanks to a mild climate and warm summers, Malta is an increasingly popular destination for leisure travellers, who flock to the island to take in the incredible sights including cathedrals and prehistoric temples, sample the Mediterranean dishes and explore coves hidden between rocky coasts and diving in the clear blue waters. Approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Malta International Airport, DoubleTree by Hilton Malta will be located in St Paul’s Bay in northeast Malta. Historically known as a fishing village, St Paul’s Bay now combines the quiet Maltese village lifestyle with several bars and restaurants popular with visitors, the perfect destination to unwind and enjoy a slower pace.
Guests of all Hilton properties will be able to benefit from the awardwinning Hilton Honors guest loyalty programme, allowing nearly 173 million members, who book directly with Hilton, to earn points for hotel stays and experiences. Hilton Honor members can also unlock access to instant rewards and benefits, such as contactless check-in with room selection and exclusive member discounts.
DoubleTree by Hilton Malta will join Hilton Malta on the island. It joins more than 660 DoubleTree by Hilton properties trading or under development across the globe.
