Valentina Medici Gouder, Nathan Zammit, Roderick Tabone, Marcin Trościańczuk and Raymond Galea are the five winners of the Tallinja Birthday Selfie Competition organised by Malta Public Transport on the tallinja card’s first anniversary. Christian Curmi was also awarded a bonus prize for submitting the most popular photo in the competition.

“Our customers are very important to us and have been instrumental in making the tallinja card such a success,” said Konrad Pulé, General Manager of Malta Public Transport. “We wanted to share our success with our customers and organized this competition inviting our customers to share in our celebrations.”

All tallinja card users were in- vited to submit festive selfie photos with their tallinja card to be in the chance to win a PlayStation 4, a Go Pro camera or a 50” television. There were many creative photos, many of which included birthday cakes, birthday cards, party hats and party decorations.

“Travel time has been reduced due to the introduction of tallinja cards, since boarding time is much faster without cash transactions. This is one of the ways in which the customer experience has improved and we thank you for your loyalty and for contributing to its success,” continued Pulé.

Through the event, Malta Public Transport had the opportunity to discuss public transport with the winners, who gave valuable feedback by describing their experiences on the bus. With a whole cross section from frequent to sporadic travelers, the one thing that was mentioned by everyone was the noticeable improvement in the service over the past year.

Besides the introduction of the tallinja card, throughout this past year Malta Public Transport also introduced 176 new buses, making its fleet one of the youngest and most environmentallyfriendly in Europe. With the launch of the tallinja app, passengers can now see real-time bus information and plan their journeys using public transport. Malta Public Transport has also continued to recruit and rain more bus drivers and customer care personnel to ensure that it can keep offering passengers he best possible service.
