40 BOV Club members win with the BOV Club Facebook Page

-

A group of BOV Club members were among the first group of 40 students who won a competition that Bank of Valletta has launched on its Facebook Page over the past weeks.

The pictorial competition features four images related to a name or place that the participants have to guess from the letters given. A new competition is launched every two weeks, with the first ten correct entries received from BOV Club members winning the gift for the given week.

Speaking to the students during a short presentation, Charles Azzopardi, Head PR & Marketing at Bank of Valletta explained, “We feel that this phase, when one is moving on to post-secondary education, is an important milestone. Many students would be opening an account in their own name for the very first time in their life. For us, this is the time that we start getting to know these young adults, and building a significant working relationship with them, which we trust, will be nurtured over the years.”

Speaking about the Bank’s relationship with the student population, Mr Azzopardi said that the Bank’s dedicated Facebook Page gives Bank of Valletta the unique opportunity to keep an open line of communication with this young population. “Through our Page, we share news that we feel is relevant to our followers, give them information about products and services which is useful, and try to demystify the world of banking.”

With regards to the competition, Mr Azzopardi explained that, “Bank of Valletta’s role is larger than that of being a financial services organisation. We take our Corporate Respon- sibility seriously, and try to infiltrate it in the organisation’s culture. Through this competition, we seek to put a light on other aspects of our involvement in the community, that are not specifically related to banking, but are very much part of who we are and our role in the community.”

The BOV Club Facebook Competition will go on until mid-October ( facebook.com/bovclubmt). Meanwhile the BOV Club team is visiting various schools around Malta and Gozo, assisting students with the application process, and giving them an overview of the various benefits they are entitled to, whilst answering any queries. Students may opt to apply or renew their membership by visiting any BOV branch or setting an appointment through www.bov.com/Assistants/ learn-more-about-bov-club
