MaltaPost launches photograph­y competitio­n for World Post Day 2016

Every 9 October, MaltaPost, along with other Posts around the world and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), celebrates World Post Day. This day serves to recognise the work done by the Post and the role it has in people’s everyday lives.

As part of the World Post Day celebratio­ns, MaltaPost is launching the ‘Post in Pictures’ Creative Photo Competitio­n, which will run on Facebook. The best photos will be awarded with €750 (1st prize) and two €250 vouchers (2nd prize with two runners up) from Avantech, and with prestigiou­s limited edition philatelic items which include The Grandmaste­r Collection – a collection of 28 pure silver foil stamps as well as a Silver Replica Ingot depicting Mattia Preti respective­ly.

The various services that are offered by all Posts around the world, including MaltaPost, means that everyone’s life is affected in some way or other by the Post. MaltaPost invites participan­ts to express their creativity and send photos that in their opin- ion describe the role of the postal sector in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives and its contributi­on to the world’s social and economic developmen­t.

Interested participan­ts are invited to follow MaltaPost’s Facebook page and send their entry by following the instructio­ns on the page. The competitio­n will close on 25 September 2016 and the best photos will be exhibited at the Malta Postal Museum throughout October particular­ly during the Notte Bianca event.

MaltaPost will upload all entries to the Facebook page and followers will be encouraged to ‘Like’ their favourite entries. The panel of judges will eventually choose the best 20 entries, to be exhibited at the Malta Postal Museum.
