Inaugural concert of the MCI Concert Season 2016/ 2017

● The Malta Cultural Institute will be presenting its first concert for the Season 2016/7 on Sunday, 9 October at 7pm, in the Ballroom of the Imperial Hotel

The MCI October Concert will be featuring the soloists and choristers from Marie Therese Vassallo Voice Studio presenting a Maltese festival of well-known and loved music by Maltese composers. The singers are just back from their singing adventure in London, where they sang for the festivities of Malta Day on 3 September. They sang a programme of Maltese folk songs during the Maltese festa in Westminster Hall and a full programme of sacred music by Maltese composers during the Solemn Mass in Westminster Cathedral and during Mass in the Medieval Carmelite complex of The Friars in Aylesford, Kent.

The evening will also include a dance presentation by Mary Jane Bellia Ballet School, under the direction of Mary Jane Bellia. The dance workshop is one of Malta’s leading dance centres, where children of all ages thrive in creative ballet classes and older students can choose from a wide selection of dance styles, including Ballet, Contemporary, Spanish, Hip Hop and Modern Dance.

The MCI October exhibition will be featuring works of Maltese artist Julia Curmi Cassar.
