2016 sees BOV employees put forward over 600 suggestions
Bank of Valletta employees put forward 634 suggestions in the course of 2016 through the BOV Employee Engagement (BEE) scheme, and the bank recently held an event at which it recognised the input of the members of staff who had suggested ways of improving the organisation.
The BEE scheme encourages employees to put forward their ideas on how to enhance the bank’s services in order to enhance the customer experience and increase operational efficiency. The suggestions received are then reviewed by colleagues who are well-versed in the area involved.
In a brief address to those present, CEO Mario Mallia said: “The bank has always recognised that its people are its greatest asset. The more dynamic our environment becomes, the more critical your role is. Your expertise and experience translate into a wealth of knowledge that helps us move forward as an organisation, whilst bridging the gap with the different stakeholder groups.”
COO Ernest J. Agius presented awards to the three members of staff who had made what were considered to be the best suggestions. The award for the best suggestion was given to Maria Ancilleri and Rita Savona and Brian Baldacchino were the runners-up. The bank also recognised the contribution of the reviewers who evaluate the suggestions put forward and give their feedback regarding their feasibility and viability.
Congratulating the winners, Mr Agius confirmed that 77 per cent of the suggestions received have already been implemented. He thanked the staff for their constant support and valuable input, highlighting the fact that “The activity we witness in the BEE scheme, which has now been running for several years, is testament to your enthusiasm and dedication. This scheme is your tool for putting forward your suggestions so that together we can help make Bank of Valletta stronger and more innovative for all stakeholders.”
