PM and Confederation of British Industry president to discuss Brexit

-

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry has invited the president of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Paul Dreschler and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat to an open discussion on the future of trade relations between the UK and the EU at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry’s premises on 30 January.

Entitled What Brexit means for Business, the conference is expected to shed light on the intensions of the two sides, with specific focus on trade and investment.

The UK’s exit from the European Union has already sent shock waves throughout various sectors of society. Statements by the UK Prime Minister Theresa May in January, and counter comments by Malta’s Prime Minister in his role as President of the Council of Ministers of the EU, shed light on the ubiquitous situation, yet a lot is still under a heavy shroud.

Ahead of the UK’s triggering of Article 50, What Brexit means for Business will provide a platform for discussion on the future of relations across the channel. The discussion will be led by Malta Business Bureau president Dr John Vassallo and those present will also be addressed by the President of the Malta Chamber Mr Anton Borg and European Economic and Social Group member Stefano Mallia.

Attendance is free of charge, but registration by email to cheryl.cardona@maltachamber.org. mt is required.
