Primary level students start receiving Heritage Malta’s Student Membership Card
Primary schools around Malta and Gozo started receiving Heritage Malta’s Student Membership Card for distribution to students who applied for this incentive. More than 5,000 applications have been registered so far but the demand is very encouraging and applications are still open for those interested.
Heritage Malta, with the collaboration of the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government and the Ministry for Education and Employment, launched the Student Membership Scheme last September. Details of this scheme were passed on to the students at the end of the last scholastic year and more than 5,000 applications have been registered so far. Students and primary schools administrations are showing great interest and all those interested can still apply online until the end of this month on www.heritagemalta.org.
The Heritage Malta Student Membership Scheme targets students at primary level and will serve as a test for future projects. The scheme provides free entrance to all primary school students in Heritage Malta sites (except for the Hypogeum) and offers 50% discount on the entrance fee to up to two adults accompanying the student. Cardholders can benefit also from discounts from the museum shops and activities or exclusive events organised specifically for members.
Recently in its efforts to increase accessibility to all museums and sites, Heritage Malta launched also a new membership scheme offering new initiatives and a variety of categories. This new scheme, which followed the Student Membership Scheme, entitles the cardholder to free unrestricted entry to all Heritage Malta museums and sites. Additional benefits include three membership categories with one-, three- or five-year options. Through the new scheme an adult or joint members can admit up to six children free and the membership card can also be shared with grandchildren or a child’s best friend. Fifteen tickets or thirty tickets are given for free with a three-year membership and fiveyear membership respectively. The free tickets can be shared with family and friends.
