Lupu Lupettu activity books

-

It is that time of year, January and February, when it’s cold, or in this year’s case, freezing cold. Families are stuck inside watching the rain patter on the window glass. The times when they venture outside, the strong Maltese winter wind threatens to blow them off their feet. This means that kids spend weekends plonked on the sofa, and when they’re not playing on screens, they are bored; and the adults around them suffer their brunt. Fear not, as Lupu Lupettu comes to the rescue with activity books. Aimed at children from age four to nine, these activity books con- tain interactive content such as games, puzzles, quizzes, pictures to colour, scribbling, sticking, word-searching and dot-to-dot – all guaranteed to keep creative minds stimulated. These high-quality activity books stand out most for innovative features, play value, fun and maintaining concentration levels. They are most definitely portable and can be completed without constant adult assistance. Children will be more than happy to spend hours with their favourite character. So as the gloom of winter takes over, make sure you have one of these secret weapons on hand to beat boredom. Lupu is the creation of young French author Orianne Lallemand and the character was tried and tested on her five chil- dren before it went on to become a publishing phenomenon. Together with illustrator Eléonore Thuillier, stories of Le Loup with his trademark amusing eyes and bush tail sprang to life. Merlin Publishers, always on the lookout for books which capture the imagination of children, brought him to Malta in 2014 and engaged award-winning Maltese author Clare Azzopardi as translator. As happened elsewhere around the world, Maltese children promptly endeared themselves to the hapless, funny wolf and they adopted him as their own. In a short period of time, Lupu Lupettu has become possibly children’s favourite Maltese book character, as each new Lupu title hits the bestseller charts.
