In a rather scrappy match, Fgura and Vittoriosa figured in a scoreless draw.

Fgura fully deserved the point earned as they were always on a par with their opponents who are fighting for a place in the top division.

However Vittoriosa’s display yesterday left much to be desired, with Robert Cassar’s side still smarting from the extratime defeat against Senglea in the FA Trophy.

Fgura started on a high note with new signing Cleaven Frendo hitting the base of the upright after barely five minutes, and went close again on 18 minutes with a Warren Chircop header.

On 30 minutes, Vittoriosa went close with a Cassar freekick and minutes later Dion Fava’s header missed the target.

Just before the break, Vittoriosa should have scored after a very good move between Cassar, Obiefule and Ogunnupe, with the latter’s shot brilliantly saved by Bartolo.

On the resumption, Vittoriosa piled up a sterile pressure with Fgura however going very close when a Matthew Gauci shot was deflected against the crossbar by the Vittoriosa custodian. Ten minutes from time Vittoriosa almost snatched the three points at stake when an Agbeobina shot travelled across the face of goal.
