Extravagant trumpery
The Floriana parish church spent €45,000 on two crystal chandeliers to decorate its interior. I'm sure that Jesus would be horrified with such extravagant trumpery in a Christian church.
The Floriana church is typical of other Maltese churches which, when dressed to the hilt with red damask and gaudy chandeliers, look like ballrooms in 18th century Venice! John Guillaumier St Julian's
