Startup Weekend is back in SmartCity Malta

-

Startup Weekend is back in SmartCity Malta! And this time it’s coming with a twist by being in sync with the acceleration programme organized by MITA.

Around 60 aspiring entrepreneurs are expected to take part in the 54-hour start-up marathon starts on Friday, 3rd and comes to an end on Sunday, 5th March. With this attendance level, it is anticipated that approximately eight start-up teams will be formed.

Startup Weekend is an adrenalin rush of epic levels from the first pitch through to the last presentation. Coming in alone with an idea on Friday night and leaving on Sunday evening with a start-up company and a bag full of new network contacts is a unique experience you can expect to find at this event.

SmartCity Malta will be playing a crucial role in the organization of this event by providing a state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as crucial business and investment contacts.

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event starting on a Friday evening with anyone pitching a start-up idea. The crowd of 50+ attendees (a mix of technical, creative and business people) then vote on the best pitches. Later the teams are formed around the best ideas which then work through to Final presentation, taking place on Sunday afternoon. The best teams are awarded prizes provided by the collaborating companies. The event is open to anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community, and puts them in a setting where anything is possible.

In the past four years, since Startup Weekends started being organized in Malta, 60+ start-up teams have been formed and 300+ entrepreneurs have been inspired. None of these numbers takes into account the networking, on-going professional relationships and amazing experience that take place at every event.

Startup Weekend’s motto is: Build Community. Start Companies. No Talk. All Action. Registration: www.up.co/communities/malta/malta/startup-weekend/10491
