HSBC UKCC Malta employees propel their careers with London training

-

Ten team members of the HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta (UKCC) travelled to London once a month for six months to participate in a unique talent development initiative as part of the HSBC’s ‘My Development Academy’ initiative.

The fully-funded, academicallyrich programme offered Maltese visitors a robust blend of sessions that were designed to accelerate growth and develop leadership capabilities of HSBC staff from around the world.

At the end of the six months, the group celebrated a graduation event in London where it also presented its ideas on how to streamline and improve processes bank-wide. In a huge endorsement of Malta’s workforce, some of their ideas captured the imagination of HSBC’s executive board and, if successful, will be implemented globally.

HSBC UKCC Malta recruitment manager Angela Brown, who was herself a participant, said: “At HSBC UKCC Malta, continuous employee training and career advice are part of our mission to invest in each and every employee. My Development Academy was an amazing experience; one that helped me strengthen relationships not only with colleagues and stakeholders in the UK but also in the site here in Malta.”

For Ms Brown’s fellow group member from Malta Davinia Debono however, the diversity of the London sessions was the most enthralling aspect of her past six months.

“Coming together from different backgrounds and fields and working to transform a simple idea into a project that advances change, was an amazing experience. Seeing the investment that HSBC has made in us and seeing my career goals come to life is truly fulfilling,” Ms Debono said. Exciting positions, an energised environment, and cutting-edge career advancement opportunities exist at HSBC UKCC Malta. More information about these is available at www.hsbc.com.mt/careers.
