Muscat claims Mario de Marco and Tonio Fenech ‘involved’ in a company in Cyprus

-

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat claimed today that the Nationalist Party deputy leader Mario de Marco and former Minister Tonio Fenech are both involved in a company in Cyprus. Speaking in Qala, the prime minister reiterated what he had said during Xarabank’s debate, that the company is owned by de Marco. He now says that the same allegation applied to Tonio Fenech and that he is going to make the documents public online.

Dr de Marco denied that he ‘owned’ a company in Cyprus. Today, Joseph Muscat chose a slightly different definition, stating that de Marco and Fenech are ‘involved’ in a Cyrpus based company.

“I am not saying that what de Marco did is wrong, but according to Simon Busuttil, owning a company abroad is wrong,” Dr Muscat explained.

Dr Muscat criticized the leader of the Opposition for changing his version on the Cyprus company story. “First thing he did yesterday was to deny it. Then, earlier today, Simon Busuttil changed his version.”

Dr Muscat commented on the report published on The Malta In- dependent, on the alleged kickbacks taken by Mizzi and Schembri from the LNG tanker, saying that the FIAU had denied the story. He said that he had looked into the sealed FIAU report and found Beppe Fenech Adami’s name linked with fraud on money made through drug trafficking. “Let’s see if he will fire Beppe Fenech Adami immediately.”

Joseph Muscat warned that at the first opportunity, Simon Busuttil will close down the gas power station and go back to using the Heavy Fuel Oil.

He also referred to the out-ofcourt settlement of €5 million for Shell, Simon Busuttil’s clients. Dr Muscat said that Ann Fenech was also involved in the deal. “The public needs to know how much money Simon Busuttil got,” he said.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that the public will soon have to make an important decision, whether to move forward, or turn back the clock. He said the public will not be asked to vote on a sealed, dark box. We are an open book, he said.

The PN proposals are not costed; Joseph Muscat said and warned that a PN government will end up under an excessive deficit procedure or simply increase taxes. He said that it is this government, the only assurance that the utility bills will remain reduced.

Dr Muscat said that Simon Busuttil wants to turn the power station back to the Heavy Fuel Oil. “He loves oil too much, and we will soon get to know why.”

Addressing the crowd in Qala, Dr Muscat said that the PN proposals on Gozo are as bad as the rest. “Our €10,000 will be given to the companies which invest in Gozo, to those companies investing in teleworking in Gozo.”

On the Gozo tunnel, he said that Simon Busuttil cannot be entrusted with this project. “They took 15 years to build a bridge in Cirkewwa, what do you expect to happen with such a big project.”

“The only thing that unites the coalition of confusion is their hate against Joseph Muscat,” he said. On hunting, he said he is sure Simon Busuttil voted against hunting in the referendum.

Dr Muscat said he is convinced that the Gozitans are in favour of the Gozo hospitals project. “The only one against the project is Simon Busuttil, not the Gozitans,” he said.

Documents released by PL on de Marco show Muscat is lying, PN says

The documents released yesterday by the Labour Party regarding PN deputy leader Mario de Marco show that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat was lying yesterday on Xarabank, the Nationalist Party said in a statement.

On Friday, during the debate with Opposition leader Simon Busuttil, Muscat said that de Marco is the “owner” of a secret company in Cyprus. Today, Labour issued documents which expose the lie, the PN said.

In its statement, the PN said that in his professional capacity, de Marco is a director (not the owner) of a company, which is owned by Finian Lyden, an Irish citizen. Joseph Muscat should know the difference between being an owner and being a director.

This company carries the name Twinkleday Ltd, a Cypriot company registered in Malta with the Malta Financial Services Authority. Evidence of this may be found on the MFSA site, the PN said.
