Second section of Kappara flyover opens this morning

-

Transport and Capital Project Minister Ian Borg yesterday announced on Facebook that the second newly-built Kappara flyover will be open as from this morning.

He said that the project is two weeks ahead of schedule.

The first flyover was opened in July and it is expected that these two flyovers will help the flow of traffic when students go back to school on Monday, 25 September.

In his Facebook post, Borg had a dig at the PN leadership election, saying: “Some want to open a new road, others want to open the right road. Tomorrow at 9am we will open the Kappara flyover, 15 days ahead of schedule. This is a government which is working and keeps delivering successes. Thanks to Transport Malta chairman James Piscopo and all workers.”

The Regional Road project started under the previous Labour administration in April 2016, at which time the minister responsible was Joe Mizzi. The project falls under the EU Cohesion funds allocated for the years 2014-2020 and will cost a total of €35 million.
