Archbishop meets Jim Caviezel and ‘Paul, Apostle of Christ’ and crew members

-

Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna this week met American actor Jim Caviezel, best known for having portrayed Jesus Christ in the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ, as well with Eric Groth from ODB Films and other crew members of the feature film ‘Paul, Apostle of Christ’, which is currently being filmed in Malta.

The film stars, along with Caviezel, James Faulkner, Olivier Martinez, Joanne Whalley, and John Lynch.

The story covers Paul, portrayed by Faulkner, going from the most infamous persecutor of Christians to Jesus Christ’s most influential apostle. It follows St Paul’s last days awaiting execution by Emperor Nero in Rome under the watchful eye of Mauritius, Mamertine Prison’s ambitious prefect, who seeks to understand how this broken old man can pose such a threat. Martinez will portray the prefect.

As his days grow shorter, Paul works from prison to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to embolden his followers to stand strong in their faith against Roman persecution.
