BOV hosts the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir

This year’s reception hosted by Bank of Valletta for the members of the BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir was held at Xara Lodge, on the outskirts of Rabat.

Although the youngest performers to feature in the Maltese Tenor’s 20th Anniversary Concert, the members of the Choir were a constant presence on stage, accompanying Joseph Calleja and his special guests, including the internationally-renowned Andrea Bocelli.

Soprano and Choir Director Gillian Zammit, as well as Destiny Chukunyere, were also at the event. The children were each presented with a commemorative photo of a special moment during the concert, complete in a specially designed folder for safe-keeping. Although the experience itself was a memorable one, this gesture was a token of appreciation on the part of Bank of Valletta for the commitment shown by the children and their parents.

Although he could not be present in person on the day, due to other commitments, Joseph Calleja left the children a personalised video message which was aired during the reception. Another message was left by Andrea Bocelli himself. Both artists congratulated the members of the choir on their sterling performance during the concert and thanked them for their contribution.

The BOV Joseph Calleja Children’s Choir, founded by Joseph Calleja, has now been supported by Bank of Valletta for several years as part of its corporate responsibility towards the worlds of the performing arts and education.
