Pembroke had to settle for the second consecutive draw of the season when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Mqabba who gained their first point of the season. To be fair Mqabba deserved something better from this match as they held the initiative for long stretches.
Mqabba suffered two goals almost against the run of play, but were capable of making a qucik recovery thanks to a Chimezie brace. In the second half Mqabba failed to keep up the momento and were unable to grab the three points even when they had numerical superiority in the last eleven minutes.
It was Pembroke who the first scoring opportunity when Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza passed towards Yanis Tonna who all alone in front of goal failed to beat Debono.
Yanis Tonna was tripped inside the area by Rennie Tanti and from the penalty spot Njongo Priso made no mistake.
After barely two minutes Pembroke doubled the score when Yanis Tonna started a fast break with his cross finding Priso unmarked and the striker made no mistake to obtain his brace. Mqabba recovered from this double blow as they pulled one back on 31 minutes when Trebovac was brought down inside the box by Dino Cachia and Paul Chimezie scored in style this second penalty of the match.
Mqabba continued to attack and a minute before the break they drew level when a Paul Chimezie deflected shot from the edge of the area completeley deceived Pembroke goalkeeper Gerada.
On the resumption the match slowed down a little even though mqabba still held the edge over their opponents.
Eleven minutes from time Pembroke were reduced to ten men when Mead Mifsud received a second booking.
